A repeat funding decision changed the picture

Bill describes an international logistics business in Virginia and Georgia. Equipment for a project led the company toward an MCA option. The first round went well, but he says the second created a more difficult position.

Working through the final issue

He says Coastal contacted the business and the company researched the provider before proceeding. He praises the support received over an extended period and describes one final matter still being worked through. His expectation that it would be resolved soon is a forecast made in the interview, not a later outcome this page verifies.

00:05 Hi, my name is Bill Hedge with Hedge and Pen Logistics. We're an international logistics company located in Virginia and Georgia. We got into our first MCA experience about maybe 3 years ago, 4 years ago, and going to get some equipment for a project.

00:18 We didn't want to have to put uh the traditional way of putting a collateral up, so we went with the MCA option. First round went fine, so we got ourselves suckered into a second round.

00:28 And in doing that, we got a little bit over our head. We're a very traditional company. We believe in paying our debts. So, we, you know, and we were very vibrant. So, going out of business was not an option.

00:39 But, we did need to get some relief. Coastal Debt Resolve actually contacted us and offered us a solution, and we researched them. They came back very good. And over the last 2 to 2 and 1/2 years, they've helped us work our way out of this quagmire and have done an extraordinary job.

00:58 Renee Clinton Clayton is probably one of the better people we've worked with. Uh she's extremely capable and certainly an asset to Coastal Debt Resolve. And we, you know, can't say enough good things about them.

01:10 We're still working through our last and final issue, but should have that resolved here in the next month or so. And if you're looking for some help, I strongly suggest working with these folks.

01:20 Thank you.

The lesson to explore

Review the current obligations before treating repeat financing as a familiar decision. Ask what the latest commitment adds, what has changed in the business and how remaining issues will be tracked.
